Let's Decorate! Please join ALASVC, Adams & Martin, and Express Network for a festive evening with your colleagues while decorating a tree for the holidays! ALA Silicon Valley Chapter has purchased a tree to support San José's Christmas in the Park. The Chapter will supply the decorations, you provide the good cheer! |

Join us anytime between 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM to decorate. The theme will be Winter Wonderland. Following the decorating, we will continue the holiday spirit at McCormick & Schmick for drinks and appetizers. |

Christmas in the Park is an annual holiday tradition that takes place in the heart of Downtown San José at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 39 years, this whimsical walk-through event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays. Each year, the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 40 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs, and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San José schools, community groups and businesses. Christmas in the Park is a non-profit organization that is supported through fundraising efforts and is free to the public. Children can have their photograph taken with Santa, watch nightly entertainment and enjoy holiday-themed refreshments.
The City of San José is an in-kind sponsor. It takes more than 260,000 volunteer hours from Board Members and the community to bring this well-loved holiday tradition to San José each year. |
