Repayment Tips, Questions, and Answers

This session will cover the latest guidance on the SBA Payroll Protection Program and how to calculate loan forgiveness.

On June 3, the Senate unanimously passed the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act of 2020 to relax and extend some of the requirements of the original PPP loan program. 

In this session, Dave Roberts with Armanino LLP and his fellow PPP specialist Omair Syed, CPA will share the latest updates on the PPP, discuss how to maximize loan forgiveness, and address our frequently asked questions.

Speaker: 

David Roberts, Partner in Charge of Armanino’s Law Firm Services group, has more than 30 years of experience working with law firms of all sizes. He and his team have consulted with more than 1,200 law firms regarding strategic planning, partner compensation arrangements, succession planning, partner withdrawal and retirement, organizational reviews, profitability improvement, partner retreats, pricing, dissolutions, and mergers and acquisitions.

David has authored numerous articles for the American Bar Association Journal and California Lawyer, and he co-authored “Financing the Start Up Law Firm,” published by the American Bar Association’s Law Practice Management section. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Northridge.

Omair Syed is a Manager in Armanino’s Law Firm Services Group, focusing on federal, state and local compliance for Law Firms and their partners.  He works with his clients to ensure they are complying with tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements while also recommending tax minimization strategies.  He also oversees financial statement compilation and review engagements for his clients.  As a member of the Law Firm Services Group, he spends 100% of this time working with law firms.

Omair is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
