Recently, as words of wisdom to his children, Marshall has written a book entitled: My House to Paint. My House to Paint is a story about a Georgia boy that broke free from the restraints of his past, poverty, and generational patterns to become a successful black man against all odds he faced. The small cottage with no running water and outhouse where he lived with his two adoptive elderly parents, was all that he knew growing up. His saving grace was his Father’s strong integrity and love for him that created a lasting impression and propelled him to want more for himself. My House to Paint is Marshall Jones’ reflection to his daughters of how he was able to transform the reality of struggle he was born into, offering his nuggets of life that helped him pave the way to become a community leader and beacon of hope for many. “You are the artist of your life. Don’t give the paintbrush to anyone else."
