Presentation Skills: Talking Out LoudWe all would like to look and feel comfortable, confident, and competent when making presentations—not just because it is good for our reputations in the workplace, but also because we know that delivering a presentation well will most effectively get our message across. In this program, we will learn techniques for adding energy and emotion to a presentation and for connecting with an audience, whether that audience is in a lecture hall, a meeting room, just across a desk, or on the other side of a videoconference. Since 1990, Clyde Leland has taught public speaking and writing for law firms and legal departments, as well as for business executives, teachers, and other professionals. For more than ten years, he was the in-house Editor and Writing Instructor at Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May, a law firm with six offices in California, where he also directed the firm’s professional development program. In addition to trainings, Clyde provides editorial services to lawyers and other professionals. He is a frequent speaker at law schools and for local, state, and national bar conferences, as well as for business organizations and individual companies.
